Hans Peek graduated in Dutch law (civil and criminal law) from the Utrecht University (1984). He then worked as a scientific researcher at the Institute for Criminal Law and Criminology of the Utrecht University and he wrote the research report “Fraudeofficieren in de opsporing” (published in 1987) with and under the supervision of the later professor H.G. van de Bunt. After that Peek participated in the postgraduate training in tax consultancy at the Tilburg University.
In 1986 he started as a lawyer at Benthem-Gratema Advocaten in Zwolle and in 1989 he switched to Hertoghs Advocaten-Belastingkundigen in Breda. With this many years’ experience Hans Peek started an independent firm, Peek Advocaten-Belastingkundigen, in Utrecht in 2007. After having managed this firm for many years Hans Peek affiliated with De Bont Advocaten in 2015.
Hans is specialised in (tax) corporate criminal law, procedural tax law, corruption cases, and all FIOD and customs cases. Hans is, inter alia, a member of the Dutch Association of Lawyers Tax Consultants (NVAB), the Dutch Association of Criminal Lawyers (NVSA), and of the International Bar Association (IBA, member of the Business Crime Committee). He is a member of the Board of Representatives of the Dutch Bar Association and he publishes regularly.
